Storing Grades Simulation

Browser Requirements: This simulation will run best in the following browsers: Safari 5+, Firefox 14+, Chrome 23+, and Internet Explorer 8+. Other browsers may run the simulation, however, some features may not work as expected. No matter what browser you use, you must enable JavaScript.

Objective: The storing grades simulation is designed to give you the experience of storing grades by applying the most common ways that schools complete the process. You will be presented with four storing grades scenarios. Use the information from each scenario to complete the Permanently Store Grades page. At the end of each scenario, the simulation provides immediate feedback about the information entered. If you made any mistakes, try the scenario again. When you are satisfied with the results, continue to the next scenario.

Scenario 1 Information:

Store grades for Quarter 1 (Q1):

  • Quarter 1 began on August 1, 2016, and ended on October 30, 2016
  • The school has year-long and semester-long courses
  • The school stores grades for students who were enrolled in courses at least two weeks before the end of the term (10/16/2016) and at least two weeks after the beginning of the term (08/15/2016)
  • The school awards credit at the end of each semester for both semester-long and year-long courses
  • Students with more than five attendance points during the term receive a grade of “NG” (No Grade) with zero GPA points and are notified that the “Grade was withheld due to excessive absences.”
